Both times the main structural frame has snapped resulting in the entire couch being unusable.
Now I'm not a very heavy guy and I don't abuse the sofa.
It sits in my den and gets used mainly on weekends by a me and a few friends.
The sofa was expensive and was marketed as having a hardwood frame but I'm really beginning to doubt this as hardwood wouldn't snap in two, twice, in less than a year.
When trying to contact Natuzzi and the store I bought this from I've had problems getting this thing fixed permanently.
Avoid buying Natuzzi products as they lie about their materials.
The frames are not sturdy and the build quality is terrible. 35b1f81

1. Written by Paul on January 6, 2011 Bought a leather Natuzzi sofa and love seat in 2009. Over the holidays the structural frame broke and the sofa no has no support and the front leans forward and touches the floor. Never abused the sofa and it had normal use. For the price you would think it would have lasted more than a year(ish). Reading these posts has me worried about getting crappy service in replacing it. We'll see what happens.
2. Written by annoyed on September 26, 2010 A friend sat down on my sectional and the back broke so now it looks like I have 2 ottomans. This person was not a big person and honestly barely touched the back of it when it broke. The company is lucky that no body got hurt. Can you image if this happend to a child or an elderly person? This happend end of June and the company I bought it from sent out a technician right away to take pictures, etc. They then forwarded info to Natuzzi. It took about 3 months back and forth and they were blowing off the company that I bought it from...telling them they need specific #;s from the sofa (which I gave to company at least 2x). Finally Natuzzi told company that they need to send out their own tech to view sofa. The tech came out and said he can either repair it or I can get a new piece. I said I want a new piece bc otherwise this will happ again. He said it would take about 3 weeks...he would either order part from Natuzzi or custom make piece at no cost to me bc of my warrenty. After about 2 weeks of not hearing a word, I called tech 2x and finally someone called me and told me that they were the middle man in this and we are waiting for Natuzzi to approve claim. Few days later I called and Natuzzi never responded to them. I told person on phone I'm so irritated this is taking almost 4 months to fix. They said that if Natuzzi denies claim they will give me # to complain. So even tho the tech said he needed to see if Natuzzi could order part, apparently they are determining whether to fix it for free or not. I also spent $$$$ on sofa and it's nothing but a junk sofa. FYI I bought this sofa bc it wasn't made in China. The company I bought it from said that eventually all Natuzzi sofas will be coming from China...so maybe that's why they dont care.
3. Written by Angry in NJ on July 30, 2010 They sold my 80 year old mother in law recliner. I sat in it and said it’s broken. Sure enough a clean break in the particle board seat back upright. What a piece for crap. And it is going to cost more to fix it then she paid for it. Natuzzi is crap stay far away. ![]()
4. Written by Mad in Jacksonville on July 12, 2010 Was so excited to purchase my "fine Italian leather sofa and loveseat" only to be embarrassed in front of company, when sofa wooden frame snapped in half while company sat on my sofa. Later to find that the sofa was missing a support in the middle of frame and impossible to contact manufactuer. Now stuck with broken sofa in under months of purchase...Should have stuck to "American made" Broyhill.... ![]()
5. Written by Cyndi on July 11, 2010 Help! We just bought a natuzzi sofa and have not taken delivery, but bought it at place where there is no refunds, exchanges etc. I am about to have a nervous breakdown after reading all this. What to do? has anyone found the leather to be toxic?
6. Written by Linda Nuthall on May 18, 2010 any one like me who has been told there Natuzzi sofa has a hardwood frame,I can assure you they most definatly have not the seam on the arm of my two seater Sofa had to be straightened and it was done in my living room, they have a cheap chipboard frame, my sofa is not a year old until September, the small sofa however looks about 5 years old, the leather has gone all saggy a concern I had from the start because who ever made the large sofa certainly did not make the small, I also found head office staff to be quite rude

9. Written by Sharon on April 13, 2010 We had the same experience. Bought a very expensive Natuzzi sectional. Had issues from day 1. Natuzzi rep finally agreed to replace entire sectional. Had issues with second one 2 weeks after receiving. Store had closed in between and Natuzzi is unresponsive. I will never buy another Natuzzi POS again!
10. Written by Upstater on April 12, 2010 Same here! Second couch has broken along the front frame, just like the first. It took 18 months of arguing with the dealer to have it replaced and another six months for a new one to be made in Italy and shipped. We are about to start the process of getting the second one replaced! Natuzzi is totally overpriced junk!
