Purchased a matching Natuzzi sofa and loveseat combination in 2006 from Macys, complete with 7 year Macy's warranty. The sofa began to sag on one side within a year and the stitching became undone and tears emerged shortly thereafter.

Macy's sent two 'repair' specialists who made it look even worse that it looked already. I INSISTED and would not back down that Macys replace it. The initially said that model was no longer made, and I foolishly believed them (without checking Natuzzi's website first). However, I insisted that they had to replace it with something as I would not accept it in its current state.

Then they backed down and called me back informing me that Natuzzi would make me a new sofa in this model (complete BS.....Natuzzi had been making it all along and still is). The replacement came and I immediately declined delivery as the leather was different colors on the top. The second replacement came and I accepted, however Macys was adamant that I could not make a second claim on the warranty against this second sofa since it had already been replaced. I was hopeful that I should not need to (but somewhat alarmed at their negativity for being so insistent on this).

Now some 16 months later, the sofa is sagging again in the area that gets most usage (but is by no means abused, and we are a lightweight family). We had guests over for Thanksgiving and noticed after they left that the already weakened position of the sofa had a buckled look to the smooth frame, and could feel that the frame had cracked. My husband carefully opened it up from the bottom and boy, were we in for a surprise. I never would have expected such shoddy workmanship for the price point of this sofa.

It is no wonder people complain about the cushions sagging as they are only stapled with superficial staples to the elastic framing, and where the cushion was sagging, we could see that the staples had pulled away from the framing. The frame itself was not made from quality hardwood, so it was easy to appreciate why it buckled. My husband is going to try to repair himself, but it makes me so wary of the furniture manufacturing industry in this country, and the lack of regulation. Prime example, companies in the US are permitted to use the term 'leather' to describe products made out of bi-cast leather (entirely a man-made substance that peels and cracks after several years).

In the UK, some parts of Europe and New Zealand consumers are protected as this is PROHIBITED. I always wondered why in UK furniture stores leather sofas were less smooth and rougher....it's because the leathers sold are less processed and do not have the glossy coverings on top that can peel. Makes me so angry that US consumers are not protected in the same way (I am going to start an online petition but have to figure out who to direct it to.......comments gratefully appreciated). Anyway, buyer beware and if you do have a Macy's warranty, be forceful and DO not take no for an answer.

It seems that they often use the excuse that the company no longermake that model to deny replacement.

Do not accept that.....check our NAtuzzi online and you can see what their current models are. Good luck fellow consumers!!!

So you respond after almost 4 years!

Rocking the publicity stunts aren't we?

If course I contacted Natuzzi and got the same BS that peeling leather is not covered in a warranty!

That's because it's not real leather! The product is a sham and your company's credibility irreversibly tarnished in my eyes (and that of the many others here who took the time to complain also).

I am having a problem with a Natuzzi leather sectional I bought at Macys (paid $3500.00 in 2006)

The leather is peeling on two sectionsl pieces. Any suggestion who to call?

They say the 7 year "Worry No More" warranty doesnt cover peeling!

The response you will get from Natuzzi is that they can recommend a 'repair specialist' who can patch it up or have the whole sofa recovered!bwhat an absolute scam..... American consumers get shafted again! What's new!

bi-cast is definitly an inferior product, but it is derived from leather. it is a layer of the split hide that is coated with pvc.

it does not wear anything like leather. i have heard not so great things about natuzzi but figured it just comes with the territory of being the largest leather funriture maker in the world.

i do believe that natuzzi has a 10 year warranty on their frames and maybe you should look into that. i like pirelli webbing as a deck construction better than 8 way hand tied or no sag springs.
